Today we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and mother figures who nurture, guide, protect, and love so deeply. Thank you for the care you give so freely — not only to your families, but to your communities, your gardens, your animals, and the people around you.
We hope your day is filled with peace, love, laughter, and quiet moments with the people who matter most.
With love from the farm,
Mama Anita’s Farm

At Mama Anita’s Farm, we believe in using what we already have.
From cardboard boxes and paper towel rolls to cups and containers, we turn everyday items into tools for growing food. We collect rainwater, make our own compost, and reuse materials in simple ways that help us care for the land.
Sometimes, the simplest things are all you need to grow something meaningful.
All farm visits and requests begin at Office General or via phone/WhatsApp, where a staff member will assist you.
To keep produce fresh and the farm safe:
We recommend visiting earlier in the day, when temperatures are cooler.
This approach allows us to keep food growing until it’s needed—fresh, cared for, and shared with intention.

Mama Anita’s Farm is more than a place where food is grown—it is a shared commitment, rooted in love, partnership, and community. Located behind Office General on the Queen’s Highway in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, the farm was built by Juanita Pinder and Roderick Pinder, partners in life and equal partners in the work that brought Mama Anita’s Farm to life.
Inspired by generations of farming before them, Juanita and Roderick poured their time, resources, and hearts into turning a piece of land into a working farm that feeds people, teaches children, and strengthens community ties. From the earliest days, every decision—planting, building, investing, and growing—was made together.

Founders | Owners of Mama Anita's Farm

Juanita carries forward the knowledge passed down through her family—the belief that every seed matters, nothing should be wasted, and farming is an act of care. Roderick stands alongside her every step of the way, offering unwavering emotional support, hands-on labor, and the financial foundation that helped turn a vision into reality.
Mama Anita’s Farm exists because they built it together. It continues because they continue together.

In 2021, the farm reached an unforgettable milestone: its first major watermelon harvest. The harvest was a moment of pride, proof, and possibility — a sign that their hard work, patience, and belief in the land were paying off.
The watermelons grown that year were more than produce. They symbolized perseverance, teamwork, and the joy of seeing something nurtured from seed to harvest. Those early successes helped set the foundation for everything Mama Anita’s Farm has become since.
The images shared here capture that moment — the land, the harvest, and the people behind it.

Joel plays an essential role in the day-to-day life of Mama Anita’s Farm. Working closely with Juanita and Roderick, he helps tend the land, care for the crops, and ensure the farm runs smoothly from planting to harvest.
From preparing beds and maintaining plants to harvesting produce and assisting customers, Joel is deeply involved in every stage of the farm’s work. He understands the rhythms of the land and the needs of the people it serves, helping make sure customers leave with fresh, healthy produce and a positive experience.
His dedication, reliability, and care support both the farm and the partnership behind it — helping Juanita and Roderick continue growing food for the community with consistency and pride.

Mama Anita’s Farm continues to grow fresh, organic food for the people of Eleuthera while creating a space where children can learn how food is grown, how soil is cared for, and why farming matters. Every harvest reflects the same values Juanita and Roderick started with respect for the land, shared effort, and giving back to the community that supports them.
This farm is their shared legacy—and it’s still growing.
