Eye on Eleuthera

We’re shining a light on artist Joe Yoffa and his striking SILO series inspired by Eleuthera’s landscape, textures, and quiet structures.

See how familiar island forms are transformed into powerful works of art.

🌱 Seedlings Now Available at Mama Anita’s Farm

We’re happy to share that Mama Anita’s Farm is offering a small selection of seedlings for those looking to grow at home.

Currently available are rosemary seedlings, avocado plants, and mulberry trees—all started with care and ready to be nurtured in your own space.

Whether you’re adding herbs to your kitchen garden or planting something that will grow and give for years to come, these seedlings are a wonderful way to bring a little piece of the farm home with you.

Our Purpose

At Mama Anita’s Farm, our purpose is simple: to grow healthy, seasonal food with care for the land and the people we serve. We use natural, earth-friendly practices and focus on quality over quantity, honoring the tradition of growing food that nourishes both family and community.

Mama Anita’s Farm operates in partnership with Office General

All farm visits and requests begin at Office General or via phone/WhatsApp, where a staff member will assist you.
To keep produce fresh and the farm safe:

  • Fruits and vegetables are harvested at the time of order
  • Staff pull produce directly from the ground
  • Guests are asked not to walk the farm grounds on their own

We recommend visiting earlier in the day, when temperatures are cooler.
This approach allows us to keep food growing until it’s needed—fresh, cared for, and shared with intention.

HOW TO ORDER

Call or WhatsApp Juanita at +1 (242) 422-9261 or stop inside Office General—morning visits are encouraged. Produce is harvested at the time of order by staff to ensure freshness.

At Mama Anita’s Farm, our work is guided by purpose, integrity, and service. In this month’s blog, we share how vocational values shape our businesses, our Rotary involvement, and our commitment to the Eleuthera community.

For us, vocation has never been just about earning a living—it’s about responsibility, integrity, and showing up every day with purpose.

Mama Anita's Farm

Built Together. Grown with Purpose.

Mama Anita’s Farm is more than a place where food is grown—it is a shared commitment, rooted in love, partnership, and community. Located behind Office General on the Queen’s Highway in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, the farm was built by Juanita Pinder and Roderick Pinder, partners in life and equal partners in the work that brought Mama Anita’s Farm to life.

Inspired by generations of farming before them, Juanita and Roderick poured their time, resources, and hearts into turning a piece of land into a working farm that feeds people, teaches children, and strengthens community ties. From the earliest days, every decision—planting, building, investing, and growing—was made together.

A True Partnership

Juanita carries forward the knowledge passed down through her family—the belief that every seed matters, nothing should be wasted, and farming is an act of care. Roderick stands alongside her every step of the way, offering unwavering emotional support, hands-on labor, and the financial foundation that helped turn a vision into reality.

Mama Anita’s Farm exists because they built it together. It continues because they continue together.

The First Big Harvest — 2021

In 2021, the farm reached an unforgettable milestone: its first major watermelon harvest. The harvest was a moment of pride, proof, and possibility — a sign that their hard work, patience, and belief in the land were paying off.

The watermelons grown that year were more than produce. They symbolized perseverance, teamwork, and the joy of seeing something nurtured from seed to harvest. Those early successes helped set the foundation for everything Mama Anita’s Farm has become since.

The images shared here capture that moment — the land, the harvest, and the people behind it.

Hands in the Soil. Heart in the Farm.

Joel

Joel plays an essential role in the day-to-day life of Mama Anita’s Farm. Working closely with Juanita and Roderick, he helps tend the land, care for the crops, and ensure the farm runs smoothly from planting to harvest.

From preparing beds and maintaining plants to harvesting produce and assisting customers, Joel is deeply involved in every stage of the farm’s work. He understands the rhythms of the land and the needs of the people it serves, helping make sure customers leave with fresh, healthy produce and a positive experience.

His dedication, reliability, and care support both the farm and the partnership behind it — helping Juanita and Roderick continue growing food for the community with consistency and pride.

Growing for Today — Teaching for Tomorrow

Mama Anita’s Farm continues to grow fresh, organic food for the people of Eleuthera while creating a space where children can learn how food is grown, how soil is cared for, and why farming matters. Every harvest reflects the same values Juanita and Roderick started with respect for the land, shared effort, and giving back to the community that supports them.

This farm is their shared legacy—and it’s still growing.
