Eye on Eleuthera is our way of celebrating the people who create, grow, and inspire right here on the island.
Eleuthera is home to talented artists, skilled artisans, dedicated farmers, and makers who pour their heart into what they do. From handmade goods to locally grown food, these individuals help shape the character and spirit of our community.
At Mama Anita’s Farm, we believe in supporting local—because when we support each other, the whole island grows stronger.
This page is dedicated to highlighting local Eleuthera artists, artisans, farmers, and small producers who are making a difference through their craft, creativity, and commitment to the island.
Each spotlight will share:
Whether they work with their hands, the land, or their imagination, these are the people who help keep Eleuthera vibrant, rooted, and thriving.
We value authenticity, sustainability, and community connection. Every person featured here reflects those values in their own unique way—through tradition, innovation, or simply a deep love for the island they call home.
By sharing their stories, we hope to shine a light on the creativity and hard work that often happens quietly, behind the scenes.
Know a local artist, artisan, or farmer who should be featured—or are you one yourself?
We’re always excited to discover and support island talent. Reach out to us to be considered for a future spotlight.
Together, we celebrate Eleuthera—one story at a time.
This is more than a spotlight. It’s a celebration of community.

Mama Anita’s Farm is proud to spotlight visiting artist Joe Yoffa, whose work captures the beauty of everyday structures and the quiet power of the natural world.
Joe’s newest plein air series, SILO, was inspired by time spent right here on Eleuthera. Rather than focusing on the height of the silos, Joe explores their texture, tension, shadows, cables, patinas, and even the flora growing within and around them. His work transforms these familiar cement structures into striking compositions of light, depth, and contrast.
Joe began the SILO series during a stay on Eleuthera in January 2023, inspired by years of family visits to the island dating back to 2005. He has since returned in 2024 and 2025 to continue expanding the series, diving deeper into the interplay of structure and environment that makes these forms so uniquely Eleutheran.
A graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University (BFA, Painting, 1979), Joe spent nearly 40 years in the woodworking profession before immersing himself fully into two-dimensional work. Today, he works primarily in soft pastels in a painterly, gestural style, often incorporating acrylic, watercolor underpainting, and mixed media to create depth and movement.
His themes consistently reflect a profound appreciation for the natural world and the beauty of overlooked details — something we deeply connect with here at Mama Anita’s Farm.
