Mama Anita’s Farm believes in being an active part of the Eleuthera community. Here we will highlight events, partnerships, and local initiatives that the farm supports or participates in throughout the year.
As opportunities grow, we’ll share how we’re working alongside others to strengthen community connections and support island life.
Mama Anita’s Farm is rooted in more than soil — it’s rooted in people.
We would like to honor the friends, neighbors, and supporters who encourage, inspire, and walk alongside us on our farming journey. From sharing seeds and knowledge to offering strength, time, and belief, these are the people who help Mama Anita’s Farm thrive.

Gardening Sister | Seed Sharer | Cheerleader
Shannon Curran is more than a friend—she is family. Known affectionately as Juanita’s “Gardening Sister,” Shannon has been a steady source of inspiration, encouragement, and strength throughout the journey of Mama Anita’s Farm.
Though they have known each other for many years, their bond truly grew through a shared love of the soil and a deep passion for growing food to nourish themselves and others. Shannon is an avid backyard gardener with a kind heart and a generous spirit. She and Juanita trade seeds, ideas, and motivation — always learning from one another and celebrating each new planting.
Shannon was one of the early cheerleaders who encouraged Juanita to spend more time planting local produce and to believe in turning her love of gardening into something greater. Together, they support one another not just as gardeners, but as women rooted in purpose.
We are grateful for Shannon and her husband, Bruce, and honored to have them as part of the Mama Anita’s Farm community.

At Mama Anita’s Farm, we believe food is meant to be shared.
When we have extra or designated produce from the farm, those specific items are made available on our Community Share Table (located inside of Office General) for anyone in the community who may need them. The Community Share Table includes only the produce placed on the table and does not represent all fruits, vegetables, or herbs growing on the farm.
This table is open to the community—no questions asked.
If you are able to take what you need, please do. If you are able to give back, donations of produce or support are always welcome.
All other farm produce not placed on the Community Share Table is harvested by staff at the time of order and follows the standard ordering process through Office General.
This is one small way we honor the values passed down through generations: care for the land, care for people, and never let good food go to waste.
