Quiet Moments on the Island

Finding balance, gratitude, and time together

This space is a glimpse into the quieter moments behind Mama Anita’s Farm. Before the workday begins and whenever time allows, Juanita and Roderick make space to walk the beach, take long drives, and experience the beauty of Eleuthera together.

Farming is rewarding, but it is also demanding. These moments of stillness—watching the sunrise, listening to the waves, breathing in the morning air—help keep life in balance. They are a reminder to slow down, reconnect, and give thanks.

As people of faith, Juanita and Roderick believe it’s important to nurture not only the land, but also their relationship, their spirit, and their well-being. Time spent together, in reflection and gratitude, gives them the strength and clarity to return to the work of the farm with purpose and joy.

These photos are shared as an invitation—to pause, to appreciate the beauty around us, and to remember that caring for ourselves and one another is just as important as the work we do.

Time Away, Hearts Full

Sometimes the quiet moments come when we allow ourselves to step away, slow down, and simply be present. This weekend, we took time to rest, reflect, and enjoy one another in beautiful Exuma—returning refreshed, grateful, and grounded in what matters most.

This is the quiet magic of the island

As the sun settles into the sea and the sky softens into gold, everything slows down just enough to remind us how beautiful life can be here.

These moments—simple, peaceful, and unhurried—are part of what makes this island home.

Time Well Shared

Standing Together in Gratitude

Where the Day Softens

Friendship has a way of slowing everything down. In the middle of busy lives, making time to sit, talk, laugh, and simply enjoy one another becomes its own kind of blessing. Evenings like this remind us that connection matters—and that time spent together is never wasted.

As the sun settles into the sea, everything else grows quieter. The water stills, the sky fades into gentle color, and the day releases its hold. Moments like this remind us to pause, breathe, and appreciate the calm that carries us forward.

Sometimes a moment says everything without needing many words. Standing together in Exuma, surrounded by color, sunshine, and sea air, we were reminded how blessed we are to walk this journey side by side. Life moves quickly, but moments like these invite us to pause, smile, and give thanks for where we are and who we share it with.

Pushing Through

Standing Together in Gratitude

“Despite the clouds, you push your way through.”

Some mornings carry weight, others carry promise—and often, they carry both. This moment was a reminder that persistence doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s simply continuing forward, step by step, until the light breaks through.

Anchored in Quiet

The water was still, the sky just beginning to change. Boats rested where they were meant to be, waiting for the day ahead. Moments like this remind us that not everything needs to move at once—some things are meant to pause, to settle, to breathe.

A Blessing as We Welcome 2026

As 2025 comes to a close, we are filled with gratitude for the year behind us and for every person who has walked alongside us. We thank God for His faithfulness, for the lessons learned, and for the many blessings—both seen and unseen.

As we step into 2026, we pray for a year filled with peace, health, hope, and continued connection. May this new year bring strength to those who need it, comfort to those seeking it, and joy in the simple moments that matter most.

Happy New Year from our hearts to yours.
— Juanita & Roderick

Read Our Shared Reflection

Earlier today, we took a quiet walk along the shoreline and watched the final sunrise of 2025 unfold. It offered a moment to pause and reflect before stepping into a new year.

We shared a few thoughts from that morning—and what’s on our hearts as we look ahead to 2026—on the blog.
